Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya - As I See It

I liked the movie, right from the title - Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaayaa... Will you come down ( for me ) from the sky... Wow... Do I need to tell more what the movie is about...

Yes, the movie is about Love. Romantic - the way Love always is... Silly, straight, complete, pure, crazy, with only one mantra in the mind - Love... The way it begins, it grows and all show the stupidly beautiful Love... And made me completely drowned in the movie...

When he meets the heroine for the first time, he knew that it was his lady. And the way he tried to woo her is really funny and real, and is very true... Me, you, everybody will do the same stupid things may be. Because the only thing in our mind is Love and we will do anything to get it.

There is a scene in which the hero was taken to police station because he was suspected for cancelling the heroine's marriage. He and his friend is at the station, that too at a place completely strange to them, down to the language. They were at the verge of getting arrested or being beaten. Still, the hero was grinning from ear to ear. When asked he was innocently telling his friend, ' can't believe the marriage got cancelled !'.... That's Love... Even at the point of life and death, he has only her in his mind... And that makes the movie magical, Love magical...

I was told that it is difficult to read girls. Especially their NO's. Here too things are not different. The girl, though liked the guy, always tells that she has no feeling towards him. And always giving the reasons why they should not fall in Love. She got reasons, but she was too afraid to express her true feelings... And when she does and the way they Love was nicely taken. Dreaming, but feet firm on ground.

Whoever has told that this generation has lost morale, and gives no importance to values, tradition or family, should watch this. If anything goes wrong between the two, it only because of the elders holding too much about the things even they are not sure of. Come on, it's life and it should be lived on our taste, our decision. The community, people and the others barriers are there only for one reason - to make you live in their codes and make you give a wrong kind of security, which it never provides in fact. Do you think any lover in the last generation will tell ' when she needs to see either the parents or the lover sad, she prefers it should not be the parents...' Last generation celebrated the story of lovers who will leave the family to be with lover and that was the victory of Love. Don't tell this to this generation. They know how big family is to them.

The way the hero handles the difficult situation also makes sense and the importance the youth gives to their life. He has not committed suicide, no drug, alcohol or any other things that may harm him. He instead focus on his life and career. He had a dream he wanted to fulfil with her by his side. Though by circumstances, she was not able to do her part. Still he hangs on to his dream and made it true. And that too with her support, her motivation, in his dream. When he was telling about the girl he found after breaking up with the heroine, and how she was giving him strength, it was touching. When we knew that he was talking about the same girl and they talk on dreams, wow.... That is Love... Which will never leave our side, which will sail us through any hardship...

For all the people out there who likes to watch simple, clean story which you can relate to, go watch this movie. And please do not judge it by Silambarasan. He is not little super star any more. He is matured to be the young super star and it shows. All he was lacking was a good director and Gauthm Menon is great in the way he tell stories. OK, let me make it clear, he cries in the movie... So don't make your prejudice mind take the decision, anyway you are of this generation and we never take decisions before we know the real thing, do we...

The songs, camera is all great. Watch the background score. The silly Love story is told with Silly pop music in the first half. It was funny, when the girl and boy decided to be friends ' Mustafa Mustafa' is playing, and when the girl is in front of him and he can't think of being friend with her 'you are driving me crazy' playing in background, that all was fun and giving he right ambiance for the movie. My favorite songs are Mannippaya, Hosanna and Omanappenne.

Watch the movie. Revive your Love. You can see yourself on screen. It's worth taking that dream ride once again...
