Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - Live Every Moment ( At Least Of The Movie )

Music : Shankar-Ehsan-Loy
Cast : Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif, Kalki Koechlin

Whoever said rain is a good omen is right - it was raining when I was leaving for this movie and it turned out to be great, lived up to the expectation it generated. A plain movie one can relate to or the life one wants to live - a dream kind of life.

For arguing you can say it is old wine in new bottle. Dil Chahta Hai deals with friendship, misunderstanding, making-up and the resolution to stay best friends forever. Rock-On repeated it with a rock band backdrop and here in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, it was once again with the bachelor party ( or tour ) background. BUT the movie offers much more than this. Or it is giving a fresh angle to it. Whatever it might be you will be entertained every minute of it.

Or you can say it is just giving advices : the need to live and not earn, don't spend today planning for the life after retirement, find happiness in simple things, live the life that you want, money is not everything etc. But then, I am sure Zoya has lectured them all, without making us feel being taught ! That is an excellent thing.

It is the story of 3 friends from school-age, going for the trip in Spain for the bachelor party. ( Don't know why movies suggest there is no fun after marriage and bachelor party is the last available opportunity for it. Is it true ? ). In the course, they discovers what they want from life, patches up some difference they had for years, met one's never-met-before biological father, discovers Love, and the friendship. Each plans one adventure each and with each of them, they feel and know life better. ( another not-planned 'tomato-holy' one is also there, which end up funny ( and shocking at once ) than life discovery ). And with each passing moment and events they realise how much they need each other to feel complete and they decide to live life fully, the way they wanted.

The friends are awesome. Three Musketeers - as they were called at school. Their pranks, pulling each other, don't care attitude will sure entertain. Hrithik, Abhay and Farhan were the perfect choice for the roles ( they convince it with ease ). The ladies also did good job. Katrina can justify her accent for being half - American :)

Though music disappointed, the background score or the lack of it excels. The high emotions scenes didn't have any background music ( like when Imran meets his father, all we hear in the backdrop is his breaths ). It helps to sink in the mood better and it was more life-like than being dramatic. Not only horror movies can use silence for good.
One thing you can not stop noticing is the number of brands the movie endorses. There is a quite handful of logos appear in the beginning and dear Zoya gave everyone its share, from Land Rover to Royal Enfield ( in Spain ? ).

It's a movie to watch. Anyway it does not resemble our lifestyle - as my friend told me. Well, who wants to see the real, slice of life in every movie. At times the stories on life of super privileged won't hurt. When the movie was over, one guy from the audience was shouting 'Haan, mein zinda hoon'. Zoya would have been happy to hear that :)

I will definitely recommend this movie. At times an escape like this from the daily routine life is relieving, if not refreshing.
